DEWALT WARRANTY POLICY

The DEWALT Warranties set out in this document are provided to persons who have purchased the DEWALT products specified in this document from an authorized DEWALT reseller. The DEWALT Warranties are not provided to persons purchasing DEWALT product for resale purposes.

1. THE 3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY:

The 3 Year Limited Warranty is a repair warranty that applies to DEWALT branded products, unless specifically excluded from the 3 Year Limited Warranty as qualified in the following product warranty information.

In general:

1.1 The 3 Year Limited Warranty period applies for 3 years from the date of purchase from an authorized DEWALT reseller.

1.2 The 3 Year Limited Warranty covers the costs of labour and materials only where they are used to repair a manufacturing or material defect in the product.

1.3 Proof of purchase (a copy of the tax receipt detailing the date of the purchase, the productpurchased & the place of purchase) from an authorized DEWALT reseller is required for all warranty claims.

1.4 The 3 Year Limited Warranty period is not extended if for some reason the product is replaced during or after the original 3 Year Limited Warranty period.

2. THE 3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY EXCLUDES:

2.1 Freight costs between the consumer and the place of purchase, between the consumer and a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, or between the consumer and an authorized DEWALT Warranty Agent, are not covered by the 3 Year Limited Warranty.

2.2 Damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect, abuse or shipping/freight accident. For the purposes of the 3 Year Limited Warranty, misuse, neglect and abuse are defined as using the product in a manner not specified by the instruction manual.

2.3 Damage caused by use, misuse or abuse of non-approved accessories or attachments, including but not limited to, non-genuine batteries & chargers. For the purposes of the 3 Year Limited Warranty, non-approved accessories, attachments, batteries & chargers are defined as those not specified by the instruction manual.

2.4 Failure or damage due to fair wear & tear incurred on the product during the course of normal use. For the purposes of the 3 Year Limited Warranty, fair wear & tear is defined as degradation consistent with that expected for a product of its age, when used in the regular manner and in the normal application the product was designed for, as assessed by DEWALT.

2.5 Consumable items supplied with, or as part of, the product that are wearing items and have failed due to fair wear & tear. The excluded items are:

  • All accessories (including those sold with the product)
  • Brushes
  • Chucks
  • Cord sets
  • Driver Blades
  • O-Rings
  • Switches

2.6 Failure or damage due to excessive use within the 3 Year Limited Warranty period. For the purposes of this warranty, excessive use is deemed to have occurred when a product is assessed by DEWALT as displaying wear & tear that is considered abnormal for a product of its age, when used in the regular manner and in the normal application the product was designed for.

2.7 Where the failure or damage is due to the product being used to the point where both the field and armature have failed (termed a ¡°double burn out¡±), only the field failure will be covered under the 3 Year Limited Warranty.

2.8 Any product where a modification to the original product has occurred, or where the product casing has been opened, or where actual or attempted repair work on the product has been carried out by anyone other than a DEWALT authorized service technician, or where a repair used non-genuine DEWALT parts.

2.9 Products from a kit where the manufacturing date code of the product being claimed under the 3 Year Limited Warranty is more than 9 months older than other products in the kit.

2.10 Products purchased outside of, or parallel imported into, Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific Islands.

2.11 Products purchased from an unauthorized DEWALT reseller, including on-line trading companies or individuals (e.g. Trading Post, eBay etc) that are not authorized DEWALT resellers in Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific Islands.

3. PRODUCTS EXCLUDED FROM THE 3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY PERIOD:

The following DEWALT branded products are excluded from the 3 Year Limited Warranty Period. Refer to separate warranty conditions for these products.

  • Radial Arm Saws / Stationary Products
  • Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, ¡°Q¡± & Blemished Products
  • Repairs on DEWALT Products
  • DEWALT Service Parts
  • DEWALT Accessories
  • DEWALT Storages

4. THE 1 YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT ¨C LABOUR & PARTS AT NO COST:

The 1 Year Service Contract applies to DEWALT branded products, unless specifically excluded from the 1 Year Service Contract, as qualified in the following product warranty information. In general:

4.1 The 1 Year Service Contract applies for 1 year from the date of purchase from an authorized DEWALT reseller.

4.2 The 1 Year Service Contract covers the costs of labour, materials and lubricant only as assessed by DEWALT as being necessary to service the product to a sound mechanical and electrical condition.

4.3 Proof of purchase (a copy of the tax receipt detailing the date of the purchase, the product purchased & the place of purchase) from an authorized DEWALT reseller is required for all 1 Year Service Contract claims.

4.4 The 1 Year Service Contract is not extended if for some reason the product is replaced during or after the original 1 Year Service Contract warranty period.

5. THE 1 YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT EXCLUDES:

5.1 Freight costs between the consumer and the place of purchase, between the consumer and a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, or between the consumer and an authorized DEWALT Warranty Agent, are not covered by the 1 Year Service Contract.

5.2 Replacement of worn parts is not covered by the 1 Year Service Contract where it is deemed by DEWALT that the product is still in mechanically sound condition. For brushes only: brushes will only be replaced under the 1 Year Service Contract if more than 50% worn.

5.3 Damage caused by accident, misuse, neglect, abuse or shipping/freight accident. For thepurposes of the 1 Year Service Contract, misuse, neglect and abuse are defined as using the tool in a manner not specified by the instruction manual.

5.4 Damage caused by use, misuse or abuse of non-approved accessories or attachments,including but not limited to, non-genuine batteries & chargers. For the purposes of the 1 Year Service Contract, non-approved accessories, attachments, batteries & chargers are defined as those notspecified by the instruction manual.

5.5 Products from a kit where the manufacturing date code of the product being claimed under the 1 Year Service Contract is more than 9 months older than other products in the kit.

5.6 Products purchased outside of, or parallel imported into, Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific Islands.

5.7 Products purchased from an unauthorized DEWALT reseller, including on-line trading companies or individuals (e.g. Trading Post, eBay etc) that are not authorized DEWALT resellers in Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific Islands.

6. PRODUCTS EXCLUDED FROM THE 1 YEAR SERVICE CONTRACT:

The following DEWALT branded products are excluded from the 1 Year Service Contract. Refer to separate warranty conditions for these products.

  • Radial Arm Saws / Stationary Products /Nailers
  • Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished Products
  • Repairs on DEWALT Products
  • DEWALT Service Parts
  • DEWALT Accessories
  • DEWALT Storages
  • DEWALT Pressure Washers 
  • DEWALT Generators

7. THE 30 DAY NO RISK SATISFACTION GUARANTEE:

The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee applies to DEWALT branded products, unless specifically excluded from the 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee, as qualified in the following product warranty information.

In general:

7.1 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee applies for 30 days from the date of purchase from an authorized DEWALT reseller.

7.2 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee entitles the consumer to a replacement, refund or in-store credit up to the purchase value of the original product, where the consumer is dissatisfied with the product and returns the entire product (including all accessories, batteries, chargers & kit boxes originally supplied as part of the product) back to the place of purchase.

7.3 Proof of purchase (a copy of the tax receipt detailing the date of the purchase, the productpurchased & the place of purchase) from an authorized DEWALT reseller is required for all 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee claims.

7.4 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not extended if for some reason the product is replaced during or after the original 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee warranty period.

8. THE 30 DAY NO RISK SATISFACTION GUARANTEE EXCLUDES:

8.1 Freight costs between the consumer and the place of purchase, between the consumer and a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, or between the consumer and an authorized DEWALT Warranty Agent, are not covered by the 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee.

8.2 Products that have been damaged after purchase by accident, misuse, neglect, abuse orshipping/freight accident. For the purposes of the 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee, misuse, neglect and abuse are defined as using the tool in a manner not specified by the instruction manual.

8.3 Products that have been damaged after purchase by use, misuse or abuse of non-approved accessories or attachments, including but not limited to, non-genuine batteries & chargers. For the purposes of the 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee, non-approved accessories, attachments,batteries & chargers are defined as those not specified by the instruction manual.

8.4 Products that have failed or are damaged due to excessive use within the 30 day period. For the purposes of the 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee, excessive use is deemed to have occurred when a product is assessed by DEWALT as displaying wear & tear that is considered abnormal for a product of its age, when used in the regular manner and in the normal application the product was designed for.

8.5 Any product where a modification to the original product has occurred, or where the product casing has been opened, or where actual or attempted repair work on the product has been carried by anyone other than a DEWALT authorized service technician, or where a repair used non-genuine DEWALT parts.

9. PRODUCTS EXCLUDED FROM THE 30 DAY NO RISK SATISFACTION GUARANTEE:

The following DEWALT branded products are excluded from the 30 Day No Risk SatisfactionGuarantee. Refer to separate warranty conditions for these products.

  • Radial Arm Saws / Stationary Products
  • Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished Products
  • Repairs on DEWALT Products
  • DEWALT Service Parts
  • DEWALT Accessories
  • DEWALT Storages
  • DEWALT Pressure Washers
  • DEWALT Generators

10. HOW TO REQUEST WARRANTY:

10.1 Take the product back to the place of purchase or direct to a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre or an authorized DEWALT Warranty Agent.

10.2 Proof of purchase (a copy of the tax receipt detailing the date of the purchase, the product purchased & the place of purchase) from an authorized DEWALT reseller is required for all warranty claims.

11. WARRANTY REPAIRERS:

11.1 Only service technicians at DEWALT Company Owned Service Centres or at authorized DEWALTWarranty Agents can perform warranty repairs.

11.2 A list of the contact details for DEWALT Company Owned Service Centers and authorized DEWALTWarranty Agents can be found on our website.

11.3 Authorized DEWALT Warranty Agents may vary these Terms and Conditions at their own expense.

12. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT RADIAL ARM SAWS / STATIONARY PRODUCTS:

12.1 A 1 Year Limited Warranty applies to all DEWALT branded Radial Arm Saws / Stationary products.

12.2 The 1 Year Service Contract is not applicable to any DEWALT branded Radial Arm Saws /Stationary products.

12.3 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not applicable to any DEWALT branded Radial ArmSaws / Stationary products.

12.4 Set-up and / or alignment of Radial Arm Saws / Stationary products are not covered under the 1 Year Limited Warranty.

12.5 Where DEWALT assesses that a faulty component cannot be freighted without impact on the alignment of the Radial Arm Saw / Stationary product, the repair will be conducted on site by a DEWALT authorized service technician. The choice of service technician is at DEWALT's discretion and may include external agents or independent contractors.

12.6 Separate warranty conditions apply to Radial Arm Saws / Stationary products that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished Products. See section 13 for more information.

12.7 Unless specified in sections 12.1 to 12.6, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.2 to 11.3 apply to the 1 Year Limited Warranty on DEWALT branded Radial Arm Saws/ Stationary products.

13. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT REBUILT, RECONDITIONED, EX-DISPLAY, FACTORY SECONDS, & BLEMISHED PRODUCTS:

13.1 A 1 Year Limited Warranty applies to any DEWALT branded products that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished products by a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, DEWALT Warranty Agent or an authorized DEWALT reseller (where the product was designated as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished by DEWALT at the time of sale to the authorized reseller).

13.2 The 1 Year Service Contract is not applicable to any DEWALT branded products that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished products by a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, DEWALT Warranty Agent or an authorized DEWALT reseller (where the product was designated as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished by DEWALT at the time of sale to the authorized reseller).

13.3 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not applicable to any DEWALT branded products that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished product by a DEWALT Company Owned Service Centre, DEWALT Warranty Agent or an authorized DEWALT reseller (where the product was designated as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, or Blemished by DEWALT at the time of sale to the authorized reseller).

13.4 Unless specified in sections 13.1 to 13.3, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.2 to 11.3 apply to the 1 Year Limited Warranty on DEWALT branded Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished products.

14. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT BATTERIES:

14.1 DEWALT branded Premium Yellow Top NiCad & Li-ion batteries that are low in capacity (less than 80% of marked rated capacity), and are over 2 years old according to the date code of the battery, are considered to have incurred fair wear and tear, and are therefore not covered under DEWALT warranties.

14.2 All other DEWALT branded NiCad & Li-ion batteries that are low in capacity (less than 80% of marked rated capacity), and are over 12 months old according to the date code of the battery, are considered to have incurred fair wear and tear, and are therefore not covered under DEWALT warranties.

14.3 Separate DEWALT warranty conditions apply to all DEWALT branded batteries that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished batteries. See section 13 for more information.

14.4 DEWALT batteries that have been damaged due to venting (as assessed by DEWALT) are not covered under DEWALT warranties. Venting occurs when excessive current draw on the battery pack (through misuse or abuse of the tool the battery pack is attached to) causes a build up of pressure &heat within the battery cell(s), resulting in battery cell(s) damage and / or leakage.

14.5 Unless specified in sections 14.1 to 14.4, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.1 to 11.3 apply to the limited warranty on DEWALT branded batteries.

15. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT REPAIRS:

15.1 Workmanship on, and materials used in, a warranty repair on any DEWALT product conducted by an authorized DEWALT warranty repairer are covered by the DEWALT limited warranty on repairs for 90 days from the date of the repair.

15.2 Evidence of the date of the previous repair (e.g. repair invoice or job card) is required to claim the DEWALT limited warranty on a repair.

15.3 The 1 Year Service Contract is not applicable to DEWALT repairs.

15.4 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not applicable to DEWALT repairs.

15.5 Unless specified in sections 15.1 to 15.4, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.2 to 11.3 apply to the limited warranty on DEWALT repairs.

16. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT SERVICE PARTS:

16.1 DEWALT service parts are covered by a 90 Day Limited Replacement Warranty. The 90 Day Limited Replacement Warranty covers manufacturing or material defect only.

16.2 The 1 Year Service Contract is not applicable to DEWALT service parts.

16.3 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not applicable to DEWALT service parts.

16.4 Separate warranty conditions apply to all DEWALT service parts that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished service parts. See section 13 for more information.

16.5 For the purposes of warranty, DEWALT batteries & chargers are considered to be DEWALT products (not DEWALT service parts). Refer to separate warranty conditions for DEWALT products.

16.6 Unless specified in sections 16.1 to 16.5, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.2 to 11.3 apply to the 90 Day Limited Replacement Warranty on DEWALT service parts.

17. LIMITED WARRANTY ON DEWALT ACCESSORIES\STORAGES:

17.1 DEWALT accessories\Storages are covered by a 1 Year Limited Replacement Warranty. The 1 Year Limited Replacement Warranty covers manufacturing or material defect only.

17.2 The 1 Year Service Contract is not applicable to DEWALT Accessories\Storages.

17.3 The 30 Day No Risk Satisfaction Guarantee is not applicable to DEWALT Accessories\Storages.

17.4 Separate warranty conditions apply to all DEWALT Accessories that at the time of purchase were sold as Rebuilt, Reconditioned, Ex-Display, Factory Seconds, & Blemished accessories. See section 13 for more information.

17.5 For the purposes of warranty, DEWALT batteries & chargers are considered to be DEWALT products (not DEWALT accessories). Refer to separate warranty conditions for DEWALT products.

17.6 Unless specified in sections 17.1 to 17.5, all other warranty conditions and exclusions in sections 1.2 to 11.3 apply to the 1 Year Limited Replacement Warranty on DEWALT Accessories.

18. GENERAL WARRANTY QUALIFICATIONS:

18.1 DEWALT reserves the right to inspect any actual or associated products, repairs, service parts or accessories on which a warranty claim is being made, in order to assess eligibility of the actual item for warranty and to ensure appropriate resolution of the warranty claim.

18.2 If a claim is made under a DEWALT warranty, DEWALT may at its discretion only, opt to replace the product (either with the same product or with a similar product(s) up to the same purchase value as the original product), or to refund the purchase price if for any reason an effective repair (as assessed by DEWALT), is unable to be achieved.

18.3 DEWALT reserves the right to review and amend its warranty policies and periods on all products, repairs, service parts & accessories, from time to time as DEWALT considers appropriate.

19. STATUTORY WARRANTIES:

19.1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
